ISLAMABAD: A pair of African Lions added to the Marghazar Zoo by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has attracted the visitors, especially children whose number has significantly increased to welcome the new inhabitants.
The visitors form twin cities are coming with their families to the zoo to see the lions after long time in Islamabad.
Talking to APP, Member Environment CDA Sanaullah Aman said that two lions have been brought to the Marghazar Zoo under Exchange of Birds and Animals Programme from the Punjab Government to provide recreational facilities to the citizens.
He said negotiations, to add a female elephant, with competent forum of Sri Lankan government are at final stages and it is expected that it would also be added soon.
Veterinary doctor of Zoo has been directed to take proper care of food and health of animals of Marghazar zoo.
Zoo administration has been directed to submit recommendations for further improvement in the facilities being provided at this facility to make Maghazar Zoo a state-of-the-art facility.
CDA invites schools and children of the city to visit the Marghzar Zoo in the vacation and is starting a Facebook campaign to name these two lions.
Suggestions are invited and most suggested name will be selected.
