KARACHI: The federal government has rejected Sindh’s development schemes and has neglected Karachi, Adviser on Information Moula Baksh Chandio said on Friday.
“Sindh has no proper share in the federal budget, and Karachi was neglected by the budget-making team of PML-N,” Chandio told reporters after Friday’s budget speech.
Despite the Sindh government’s strong protest, he said, the province’s main development schemes had been rejected in the budget.
He said the budget lacked any vision whatsoever. “The budget has failed to address the structural weaknesses stemming from the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few and unequal opportunities,” he added.
The adviser said government servants, particularly low paid ones, would be more than disappointed, farmers frustrated and the working class dismayed at the insensitivity of the government towards their plight.
