ISLAMABAD: The National Book Day under the aegis of the National Book Foundation will be commemorated at the Pak-China Friendship Centre on April 22.
Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Division Irfan Siddiqui expressed these views at a meeting with the officials of the National History and Literary Division and National Book Foundation in his office in Islamabad on Sunday.
He informed media persons that renowned intellectuals and literary personalities, book ambassadors, book lovers, educationists, writers, poets, famous artists and students of various educational institutions were expected to be part of the event. He said that the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan would be the guest of honour at the 7th National Book Day.
Siddiqui said the Pakistan Post had issued a ticket on the National Book Day and it would be issued on April 22. It was said at the meeting that booksellers and publishers would set up more than 250 bookstalls at the event and offer discounts up to 55 percent.
