ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Sunday that his government was committed to protect the minorities’ rights as they’re also Pakistani citizens.
Nawaz said this while talking to Sham Sundar Advani – a leader of PML-N Sindh chapter – who called on him and conveyed felicitation on the occasion of Independence Day.
Nawaz appreciated the sacrifices and effective role played by the minorities for the national cause and reiterated that the protection of their rights was the government’s priority. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Asif Kirmani was also present during the meeting, said a press release.
Sham Sundar said Sindh’s minorities deeply appreciated the prime minister’s agenda of development and steps to protect their rights. During the meeting, political situation and organisation issue of the party were also discussed.
