SIALKOT: The Defence Day will be observed with zeal, enthusiasm and national spirit on September 6 (Tuesday).
The day will dawn with special prayers in all mosques for solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the country. The main ‘Hilal-e-Istaqlal’ hoisting ceremony will be held at the historical Sialkot Fort under the auspices of the Pakistan Army’s personnel.
DCO Asif Tufail said people and senior army officials would salute the Shuhada and lay wreaths at their graves in Sialkot and Chawinda during special ceremonies. Political, social, religious and civil society organisations would also lay wreathes on graves of the martyrs.
